Common questions
Good questions. Straight answers.
The practical things to know before you get started.
What does SayGday actually do?
It turns your website into a conversation. Instead of scrolling through an FAQ, customers ask in their own words and get an answer from your approved business information and your own website. It collects email enquiries when someone needs you and saves conversations for you to review.
Why would my business need it?
People come to your website with questions. If the answer isn’t easy to find, many don’t email you; they just leave. SayGday lets them ask in their own words, day or night, and answers from information you’ve approved. When only you can help, it takes their question and email address so you can reply. Your dashboard shows every question people ask, so you learn what customers actually want to know. At A$30 a month, it pays for itself if it saves you answering the same few questions, or catches one enquiry a month that would have gone elsewhere.
Is it AI?
Yes, and we’re upfront about it. SayGday uses AI to understand what a customer is asking, then answers only from your website and the answers you approve. It doesn’t search the internet or answer general questions about the world. If nothing you’ve approved covers a question, it says so and passes it to you.
Will it work on my website?
It works on websites that allow a small piece of chat code, including many WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and custom website setups. Some platform plans restrict custom code. You’ll also need access to your domain settings to verify ownership. Our setup guide explains what is needed, and we can check your setup with you.
Where do the answers come from?
SayGday reads selected public pages on your website to prepare draft answers about your hours, location and services. You check and approve each answer before customers see it, and you can add or change answers and opening hours from your dashboard any time. You can also let it answer from your website’s own pages as a backup. It never looks anything up elsewhere on the internet.
What happens when a customer needs me?
They can leave their question and an email address for a personal reply. You review the conversation in your dashboard and reply by email. You do not need to sit in a live-chat inbox.
Can it book appointments or take payments?
The current website assistant can explain your published booking or payment process and capture an enquiry. It does not confirm appointments, issue binding quotes or take payments for you. Connected actions are planned upgrades.
Can I try it without paying?
Yes. You can build and privately test your assistant without a card, and your first 14 days on your website are free too. They start the day the chat button first appears on your website, not the day you sign up. Private preview usage is limited. Creating an account does not start billing, and nothing is charged automatically. Prices are in Australian dollars. No GST is charged. No conversation cap today. Fair use applies: an hourly limit per visitor and a daily AI ceiling per business keep abuse out, and visitors can always leave an enquiry.
What is an extra location?
An extra location is another business or branch you add to your account, with its own assistant, answers and enquiries. Each one is A$10 a month on top of Standard, which stays A$30 a month. Prices are in Australian dollars. No GST is charged.
Why is it so cheap?
We’ve kept the price low on purpose. Running costs have gone up for every small business, and we want SayGday to be something any of them can afford. We can do that because we’ve engineered it to be cost-effective: it does one job and runs lean. It answers only from your approved information, so it doesn’t need an expensive AI working through everything. Common questions, like your opening hours, are often answered straight from your approved answers without AI. There are no chat operators or call centre: customers leave an email and you reply when you’re ready. You set it up yourself from your own website, and it’s made by a small team in Canberra.
What’s the catch?
It’s a website assistant, not a receptionist. It answers questions and takes email enquiries. It doesn’t take bookings, give quotes or take payments, and phone, SMS and social messaging aren’t available yet. Usage limits apply and are shown before you go live. You can build and test it for free without a card, and your first 14 days on your website are free, counted from the day the chat button first appears on your site, so you’ll know if it suits you before you pay a cent.
Does it sound Australian?
Yes. SayGday is built in Canberra and uses Australian spelling and natural local phrasing. Friendly when it should be. Professional when it needs to be. No forced Aussie slang.
What about privacy and accuracy?
Visitors can ask a question without giving contact details. An email address is required for an enquiry. Business conversations are saved for review, and an enabled AI provider may process the question and relevant context, including outside Australia. AI can make mistakes, so important answers need checking. Read our Privacy policy for the full details.
How do I update information or get billing help?
Sign in and change it yourself. Your answers, opening hours, question shortcuts, special offer and your assistant’s name all live in your dashboard, and a change is used from the next question. For billing, cancellation or refunds, email hello@saygday.ai from your account email. The terms agreed for your plan apply.
